Gardening is a hobby which often requires kneeling and bending to tend the plants. These positions can be uncomfortable for people both young and old. For example, to plow and seed a plot of land, gardeners must kneel down into a sometimes painful position to reach the ground. To prune bushes, gardeners must bend down to make the cuts. To remedy this problem, a company called Yard Butler has created a device that acts as a seat and kneeler. It has a comfortable foam pad top to cushion the knees. The frame is made out of lightweight tubular steel which easily converts between positions.
The Yard Butler Garden Kneeler is super easy to use; simply unfold the device into the full position. Once open, the Yard Butler can be flipped into one of two positions. When the pad side is placed on the ground, users can kneel and rise using the two side handlebars. For people who have difficulty changing positions, the handlebars can be a great help. The pad cushions the knees while keeping your clothes clean. In the second position, the handlebars turn into legs, making the Yard Butler into a seat. Users sit a foot or so off the ground where they can prune and trim their plants.
The slanted legs are sturdy and not prone to tipping. The legs lock securely into position and will not unfold until desired. The frame can hold up to 250 pounds without breaking. At only 8 pounds, the unit can be carried around the garden without strain. Between uses the seat/kneeler folds into a compact shape which can be hung on a hook or put into a garden shed. The seat is features in an earthy green tone, while the frame is covered in a dark gray power coat of paint for protection.
