White Gold Jewellery

You may have seen white gold jewellery but wondered how it was created.  The natural color of gold is yellow, however differerent metals can be added to the gold to create an alloy of a different color. Examples of this would be white gold, rose gold, and green gold.  Besides affecting the color of the gold, creating alloys can also strengthen the piece because the other metals are often stronger than gold. To make white gold, nickel, zinc, and copper are added to the gold to give it its recognizable white color.  White gold is a great choice if you want something in that shiny bright tone that is more precious than sterling silver, but less costly than platinum.  White gold is commonly made into rings, bracelets, necklaces and other jewellery pieces.
