More women are turning to weight training as a fitness program because it’s so effective. Unlike aerobic fitness programs, working out with weights is easy to start out with, even if you’re very out of shape. Instead of huffing and puffing on a treadmill or elliptical machine and wishing you were somewhere else, you can simply start out with lighter weights if those first few weeks are difficult. While it doesn’t give instant gratification, weight training will show visible results within the first month, in that your clothes will fit better and you’ll have more energy. But doesn’t lifting weights bulk you up? Not true. Women naturally have less muscle mass than men, so this type of workout will give your body better tone without building bulk. Try it – you’ll look more streamlined, and you’ll feel great.
