The different techniques of suction assisted liposuction methods have evolved beyond wet-liposuction. The original liposuction is what we now call dry-liposuction which is hardly ever used today. Wet-liposuction is the use of a liquid solution injected into the area about to be treated. The solution breaks down the fat making it easier to remove through the suction tube. But today there is laser assisted liposuction which is an amazing advancement in liposuction techniques. It offers a more precise way of targeting fat cells which minimizes most common problems with traditional liposuction methods. Then there is also ultrasonic liposuction which bursts fat cells with sound waves.

Ultrasonic liposuction which is known as UAL, is the sort of procedure that makes use of high pitched sound waves to turn excess fat to liquid in a specific part of the body in order that it will be simpler to eliminate. Ultrasonic is a variety of liposuction that is ordinarily recommended for fat deposits removing in hard to handle and near the bone places like the face and neck, calves, ankles and knees. Ultrasonic liposuction could also function as an operational additional procedure to tumescent liposculpture or liposuction for patients who would like more precise body sculpting.

Laser liposuction uses a small optic fiber which carries the laser and a smaller than traditional cannula, or suction tube. The smaller tools means that laser lipo requires a smaller incision to treat the area. This reduces the risk of infections after the surgery as well as other problems commonly associated with traditional liposuction. Since it is really meant for small procedures, it is often used to compliment larger procedures as a way of touching up the area. The accuracy of the laser technique allows the surgeon to finely detail the area and achieve the sculpted results desired.
