Many people suffer from a form of dermatitis called eczema. This is a dreaded disease which not only affects adults, but kids and even infants as well. However, there is a way for you to fight this skin disorder and you can do so using a natural remedy and that is with extra virgin olive oil. Olive oil has been proven great and effective when it comes to treating facial eczema, eczema in children and the like. The use of olive oil will help moisturize your skin and keep it soft and supple.

One thing that you need to bear in mind is that eczema normally occurs because you have a severely dry skin and eczema just loves an overly dry skin. The problem with eczema is that it is accompanied by relentless itching and the urge to scratch the rashes can be very overwhelming. Sadly, such action will only dry out your skin even more and as a result, your skin will become further inflamed and tender. It will also make it more prone to further bacterial infection.

One good thing about using olive oil is because it is 100% natural which means no possible side effects and it can be utilized on a long term basis. There are now many over the counter products which have olive oil as their active agent. You can find such products in forms of gels, creams, lotions etc. However, when you are out to purchase one, it is still wise for you to read the labels for other chemicals in which the product might contain that could potentially irritate your skin. Another option that you can try is to dilute the oil by mixing it with little water and then simply lather it onto your skin. You can mix it with honey as well and make a paste form mixture out of it and then apply onto your face like a facial mask. Take a drive down the store, purchase a bottle of olive oil and try it out now.
