The Disney channel seems to have turned into MTV for elementary and middle-schoolers. The channel has a large line-up of their original tv shows and movies. In 2006, the show Hannah Montana premiered and billions of dollars later an entire new genre of television was born.
Now, kids who act in a tv show on the Disney channel do so much more than just their one part. They perform music videos which are sometimes related to their shows and sometimes not. These are just like the videos that adult music stars create for MTV, VH1, etc.
Hannah Montana videos are some of the most popular on the internet for Disney Channel. Fans love to be able to watch Miley Cyrus’ alter ego perform her hit rock star songs.
