Slipper boots are usually lined with fur or at least very warm so it makes sense to wear them in winter. However, some boot slippers are not appropriate for wet weather. Since Uggs and shoes like them have become more popular, people are wearing them in all kinds of weather and as a result they have changed from being functional shoes for snow and cold to a fashionable shoe for everyday wear at all times of the year. If you want to wear your slipper boots outside during the winter, you need to make sure that the sole is a good one. It should be thick and sturdy so that it will not be torn apart by salt or ice. In addition, you need to make sure that the shoe is waterproof. If your slipper boots are made of leather then you need to treat it so that it will repel water. Knit boot slippers really are not appropriate for winter because the fabric gets wet and then gets your feet wet. That could lead to serious health problems like frostbite.
