TiddlyWiki is a wiki-modeled single-page application that runs inside your web browser.It’s original design was targeted as a personal notebook. It is a standalone html file… Download it to your disk and open it with your web browser is the only things necessary for installation.Once on your computer, TiddlyWiki saves the entered data by overwriting itself at your request.  TiddlyWiki calls new entries tiddlers and are stored in the local copy of the TiddlyWiki file and are saved for future reference. Tiddlers that already exist can be deleted or changed in the same way. Because it runs under most browsers and requires no installation, it can be easily used as a portable personal wiki.

Using a single webpage file also be a full application is a concept whose time has come.There are several addons that provide powerful features.  One of the more common varients is TeamTasks.TiddlyWiki is extended by TeamTasks to be a full project and task management system.You can have many projects, users, and tasks all being tracked in the single web page (TeamTasks). 

We use the TeamTasks TiddlyWiki to communicate with our customers better.  We started by having a copy on our primary contact at a business and we would email the single webfile application (TeamTasks) back and forth with customers whenever they would add things for us to do and back to the customers when we completed tasks.But we knew a better way to do it.

As part of our consultancy we resell OPENRSM CloudBackup (an online backup service) to automate our customers backup.Since OPENRSM CloudBackup has full network drive features, we use it as a secure repository for each customers TeamTasks.We have instant access to our customers requests and our action tiddlers by mounting the same shared customer drive.  No web servers, no fancy programming, no complicated applications to install (or pay for, the TeamTask TiddlyWiki is open source).  All we do is check each customers unique TeamTasks TiddlyWiki file on their network drive a couple times a day.

And our customers rave about it.We use it as a demo when selling CloudBackup service.It’s helped us really show off how CloudBackup is more than simple online backup while helping us provide better customer service.  Which just goes to show you that a little creativity and a good online backup service can help your bottom line while increasing service to your customers.
