Internal vs. External Hemroids

Although hemroids can be painful and irritating they’re usually not serious and in most cases they can managed and controlled with either simple lifestyle changes such as adding more fiber to your diet or with over the counter medications to help manage the symptoms. Hemroids are just veins in the anal area that have become strained, when they are inside the anal cavity they are internal hemroids when they bulge outside the anal cavity they are referred to as external hemroids. It’s actually possible to have both types of hemroids present at the same time. External hemroids are much more likely to cause more symptoms because they are subject to more daily stress and aren’t as protected as internal hemroids. Depending on which type of hemroid you have, your treatment will vary.
