This is because by virtue of the cleaning business, things get dirty fast all the time. This creates a steady and predictable source of income. All you need to do is find someone who will hire you. This will largely be determined on the neighborhood area you are targetting.

Most people believe that house cleaning is a luxury for the rich and threfore naturally gravitate towards rich neighborhoods. While it is true that there will always be rich folks who don’t want to sully their hands, these aren’t your only clients. There are families where the couple works and are too tired to deal with the mess so family friendly neighborhoods are good too. And then there are the elderly and the mobility impaired who could use cleaning services as well. Therefore, there’s a whole lot of different demographics to tap.

If you’re looking to find house cleaning work, it is best to actually network and be introduced into these areas. People are much more apt to hire you if they know who you are than to hire from an agency. You’re basically trying to get into the hidden job market. These jobs don’t really exist per se, but there is a definite need for them, your clients just don’t know it yet.

Once you get introduced to a community whether it’s through church or another method, let them know you’re looking for housekeeping employment, you never know what might transpire and your odd job could turn out to be a regular gig.
