It is pretty well established that food is not a direct cause of acne, but it also isn’t an isolated element that has no effect on our health either. The more healthy you are the better looking your skin will be. If you have significant health imbalances related to food intake, chances are it will show up on your skin. If you already have skin that is acne-prone, a poor diet will only aggravate it. In this perspective, food may very well be considered as a home remedy for acne. It is not only important to pay attention to the foods you do eat but to give some consideration to the foods your diet may lack. For example, if your body lacks essential fatty acids that it would normally be getting from foods, this will trigger the sebaceous glands to produce more oil which may end up clogging the skin pores – not a helpful situation for someone who suffers from acne.
