In becoming a flight attendant, airlines necessarily follow steps to a thorough employment background screening. What do airlines require from their prospective flight attendants? Here is a list.

The basic requirement for potential flight attendants is their education. They must have at least a high school degree. However, it can also be a plus if you have attended higher education as this aid in climbing up the airline corporate ladder in the future.

Secondly, customer care skills are also important. Flight attendants need to have the relational expertise in the job. Even when you haven’t had any job experience, you need to project a personality showing your ability to communicate and relate to people of different backgrounds and personalities. It is still advantageous when you have work experiences that allowed you to serve people like working in restaurant, food chains, and other service-oriented jobs. However, when you don’t have one, it is still an edge if you have pursued college. A higher education exposes you to different challenges that make you more adaptable and mature for any job.

Language is also a prerequisite to anyone in the country who wants to pursue this career. When you can speak fluently any foreign language, it is so easy to assign you to any foreign destination. If you can speak French, Spanish, German, Spanish, Japanese and Chinese it is a huge plus factor. Of course, you must know how to speak English as well.

A flight attendant must also be willing to be assigned to any countries of destination of the airline.

Appearance is a very crucial matter when it comes to becoming a flight attendant. Passengers want to see flight attendants who appear neat, professional, and attractive.

Physical and medical exams are also facilitated to applicants to ensure that they are physically and mentally fit for the job.

Airline companies also require the necessary background checks to applicants involving personal details and criminal history.
