I was going through my attic the other day and came across an old Baltic amber ring which my grandmother used to wear long ago. Even in the cramped space, I took a moment to simply admire the beauty of the dark toned amber which had been brilliantly set in sterling silver. While the silver had tarnished over time, the Baltic amber kept its finish and its elegance. In no time at all I took the ring downstairs to clean it off. It took a good while, but I was rewarded for my efforts with a simply dazzling piece of jewelry. And since this amber ring has a rich family history to it, I decided that I would make it into an heirloom. One day my children will cherish this wonderful piece of jewelry as I do today.
