While many of you will naturally select a wooden coffee table, tables made out of molded glass or plastic are also an option.  These typically are sold under the names of Plexiglas or Lucite.  Tables made out of these materials  help create an illusion of more space and cost starts  around $150 and goes all the way up to thousands of dollars for some of the more contemporary or collectors’ tables.  Truthfully, when you get right down to it, a coffee table can be made out of pretty much any material; for example,  cork, copper, aluminum, or driftwood.  I’ve even seen one made out of a recycled antique door.  So free to get creative! The most important thing is to select a table that represents your personal style and the style of your home.
