Berber Carpet Tiles Designs and Patterns

Berber carpet tiles are great for busy areas around a home or for offices.  This type of floor covering is also often the choice of people who rent out properties as they are extremely hard wearing in most instances and they are also very easy to replace, providing you have extra on hand. Some innovative people have used them in very creative ways to make rather stunning floor pattern designs; you do not always have to lay tiles of only one color.

For children’s play rooms you can take advantage of the many brightly colored tiles you can find and lay out a pattern of boldly colored tiles, utilizing as many different colors as you like. This type of bright pattern works best in a slightly larger room as with a small room it can tend to make the room look even smaller than it is.  You do need to be careful when planning out the pattern, it is often best to jot down the particulars on paper so that you can have a basic pattern or design to follow as you work in order to keep continuity. It also helps you to determine how many tiles of each color you need.

While that type of pattern may be too bright for a living area, you can still use subtler patterns to add a touch of class to a room. For example, choose two slightly different shades of the one color; a light gray and a darker gray, or an off-white and a cream color, and lay down an alternating pattern. Another variation of this pattern is to use tiles with a distinct horizontal pattern or weave. You can place them with the weave going horizontally, then vertically. This eliminates the need of buying two different sets of colored carpet tiles, thus may save you some money, yet still gives the impression of a patterned floor.

Another creative idea is to form a border one tile wide around the edge of the room, and then use a different color to fill in the remainder of the area.  As you can see there are many options for creating designs using carpet tiles. A berber carpet tile, being so easy to place, is perfect to use for this type of project.

Having a beautiful and functional sofa can increase both the style and comfort of a home. With such a wide range of colors, styles, and materials, finding the perfect sofa should not be difficult. Many people find leather corner sofas to be elegant and comfortable.

Leather is a traditional material that has many benefits. It is durable, safe for family and pets, and feels amazing. With the proper care, it will last for years.

Cleaning is not difficult or involved. Many stores offer kits for leather maintenance. While these are convenient, they also tend to be expensive.

If a leather sofa is of a high quality, it is likely that is has been treated with a stain resistant. Such treatments will repel liquids and protect the material against staining. However, even with these precautions proper care is necessary.

Any spilling or staining must be treated immediately. Failure to do so can result in permanent damage to the leather. Examples of potentially damaging substances are ink and crayon.

Should an accident occur to the sofa, first soak up all excess liquid. A dry cloth will work best. Carefully inspect to see if there is any discoloration.

To remove a stain, moisten an additional cloth with warm water. Delicately work the cloth around the stain. Be sure to move inwards to avoid spreading the discoloration.

If the stain persists, use a mild soapy mixture. Shampoo, conditioner, and water can be mixed into a cleaning solution. With care, rub the mixture into the stain and then blot up the excess liquid with a dry cloth.

Aside from taking care of accidents and spills, other maintenance measures should also be taken. To keep the leather soft and supple, there are two moisturizers that can be applied. Mink oil or lanolin are popular choices.

Leather corner sofas are elegant and beautiful pieces. Protecting them from damage will keep them looking amazing for years to come. Take the proper precautions and maintain these classic sofas.

The grime and grit of modern city life coats all outdoor surfaces and leaves them looking ugly and grey. This goes for our driveways and garden paths with formerly lovely looking areas left looking depressingly ignored. Rather than leaving these paths and patio areas to continue to get dirtier and blacker there is a simple cleaning solution that makes use of the Karcher portable pressure washer.

Pressure washers have been around for many years with industrial strength versions in use in heavy industry sites all over the country. The home version that was brought out by Karcher many years ago has been accepted for use by many households with the cost of the washer very reasonable.

A pressure washer works by forcing water through a narrow opening at high speed. The force is so great that the water easily accounts for the ground in grime and dirt that otherwise appears immovable.

One of the downsides with the early models of these pressure washers was that the wand that was used to direct the high pressure water jet only allowed for cleaning to be performed an inch at a time. This was the size of the water jet as it left the nozzle and while it performed an effective clean of the hard surfaces, the going was rather slow.

The problem has been solved in recent years thanks to the creation of accessories such as the Karcher pressure washer T-Riser. This add-on accessory is attached to the original cleaning arm and allows the washing to be performed over a 12 square inch section at a time. The cleaning is done by means of a couple of rotating nozzles that turn as the washer passes over the surface being cleaned.

Clearing Clogged Drains: Tips from Houston Plumbers

Clogged drains can easily be cleaned yourself, thus saving the money you would have spent hiring a plumber. Now I make my living as a Houston plumber, but I’ve got some basic tips that can help you save your hard-earned money when you have such a basic problem. Try a few different methods listed here; you will find you do not need plumbing experience to handle this problem.

If there is only a light clog, then give the clogged drain a hot water rinse. You can either run very hot water down the drain or boil water on the stove and carefully pour it down your drain. This loosens hair, soap scum and other drain based debris before they completely block up a drain. In fact, doing this on a weekly basis will prevent clogs from occurring and save the time that would have been spent unclogging the drain.

Plunging is a simple albeit tiring way to clear your drain. First of all, stop up the overflow opening with a damp washcloth. Run some water into the sink, shower or tub and start plunging. If you get tired, give yourself a few minutes rest; it can take some time and lots of hard work before the blockage is removed and the water drains normally.

Baking soda is a very affordable and environmentally friendly way to remove a drain clog. Pour a cup of baking soda down the clogged drain, wait a few minutes and then pour in several cups of hot water. This produces an alkaline composition that will break up a drain clog in a matter of minutes. However, you should never use baking soda with a commercial drain cleaner. The two mixed together cause a chemical reaction that creates poisonous fumes. In fact, if you have used commercial drain cleaner on your drain before, there may be reside from this still in the drain and you should avoid using this method of clearing a clogged drain for your own safety.

One way to quickly update the look of a living room or family room is to get new pillows for the couch. Since there is such a wide variety of pillows available, it can be an easy and fun decorating project. Give some thought to what colors and size pillows would look good in the room before you start looking around.

You can easily use couch pillows to add a pop of color to a room that needs it. Play up a color found in the rest of the decor, or introduce a totally new color into the room’s palette. Richly patterned pillows often look good on a neutral color couch, and keep it pretty simple with the pillow fabric if the couch has a bright pattern. While you might think you know exactly what you are looking for, don’t worry if you need to bring home pillows a couple times to find the right look for the couch and for the room.

A good rule of thumb is to always use an odd number of pillows on a couch so that it doesn’t look to boring and symmetrical – three or five pillows for a small couch and five or seven for a large sofa or sectional. Don’t be afraid to mix and match the colors and patterns of your pillow fabrics. Unless the pillows completely clash with the couch, anything goes with accent pillows.

Choose pillows with removable covers whenever possible. It will be easy to clean the covers and the pillows will always look clean and fresh. If you buy inserts and covers from a store like Pottery Barn, you will spend a little more money, but you can always buy new covers when you get tired of the pillows or when they wear out.

With just a little bit of time and money, getting new couch pillows is a great way to update a room!

. They make the luxury watches that can take a beating. The Swiss Army watch is no joke and is well worth its luxurious price tag. These are generally not quite sports watches, yet the goal of these watches is to be able to withstand all types of conditions and still look good too. The most expensive Swiss Army watch out there is The Victorinox Travel Alarm 1884. This watch was especially created to celebrate the 125th anniversary of the Swiss Army Knife. It is still a lot cheaper than something such as the  CX Swiss Military Watch, but it is tough even so. The Swiss Army Knife was made first by a family business company. The pocket knife was a success so they it went into designing the Swiss Army watches in this process they decided to name the company Victorinox which was the combination of the family’s late mother Victoria and the discovery of using Stainless steel which is originally called “inox”. Victorinox then became a strong company making other products as well and being the only company to get to use the Swiss Army name. This made sense being it stemmed from the original Swiss Army knife company. The Travel Alarm 1884 is designed just like the Swiss Army Knife which is fitting since this watch was to celebrate the invention of the Swiss pocket knife. It is designed in a pocket watch style that unfolds just like a Swiss Army Knife. It is colored in the same red side paneling as the Swiss Pocket knife too, and made of stainless steel. This watch even has tweezers and toothpick that will spring out all in true Swiss Army Knife fashion. Also in true Swiss watch tradition the watch is water resistant up to 33mm. This Swiss Army watch came in at a hefty 550.000 dollars for a watch. Only 125 were released and most were bought up before they were ever officially released.

How To Find Your Lost iPhone

If you have an iPhone, you’re going to be interested in hearing about a really cool application called Find My iPhone.  With the Find My iPhone application you can locate cell phone from any Internet connected computer.

Thousands and thousands of people misplace or lose their cell phones every year.  In some cases, cell phones are actually stolen.  With the Find My iPhone cell phone locator,  you can instantly see the location of your cell phone on any Internet connected computer.

It’s really easy to get started with the Find My iPhone cell phone tracker app.  The first thing you need to do is sign up for a MobileMe account.  MobileMe will give you a free 60 day trial of their service.  If you decide that you want to stay with the service at the completion of the 60 day trial, it will cost you $99.00 a year.

Once you sign up with MobileMe, it’s free to download and install the Find My iPhone application onto your iPhone.  The next thing you should do is make sure that your iPhone has a password set on it.  We’ll talk about why in just a minute.  When you sign up for the MobileMe account, you will give your serial number and cell phone number to MobileMe which will link your iPhone to the account.

After you have done that, it’s very easy to locate your phone if you misplace it.  All you have to do is log onto a computer that is connected to the Internet, go to the MobileMe website, enter your password, and the location of your iPhone will instantly appear on the screen.

There are two security features that are a part of the Find My iPhone cell phone locator.  The first one allows you to remotely send a command to your phone that will lock it and prevent people from accessing your personal information or using your phone.  This is why you need to have us password installed on your phone.

The second security feature is very cool if you think you’re not going to be able to recover your iPhone.  Maybe you lost your iPhone while on vacation and won’t be able to return to pick it up or maybe your iPhone was stolen.  This security feature allows you to send a remote command to your phone to completely erase any of your personal information.  This is not reversible so make sure that if you do send this command to your phone that you are fairly confident that you will never see again.
