The excitement for printer enthusiasts comes in finding the most affordable printers. There are many different types to choose from. To name a few there are the inkjet printers, bubble jets, laser printers, dot-matrix printers, portable laptop printers, printers for digital photos and many more. But what are the things that you have to look for when buying this technological advancement in printing?

Actually, each of the several types is suited for their own specific tasks. Whether that is as gear to photography, travel companions for work groups or primarily for your documents, you should always test printing quality.

Before you purchase, make sure that you do a search for the exact specifications. A couple of worthy picks for your business could be the following: Canon Pixma ip100 printer, Epson Workforce 600, Lexmark X6650 or the HP PhotoSmart C4780. It might also be essential to check if the printer does more than just print if you need multi-function. After all, it would not be smart to end up with a printer that will only print is you need a scanner as well. Most laptop printers will be capable to do the print jobs you want.

First, you must make sure that it fits the operating system of your computer. Next, you should take time to consider the size and capability of the printer and also be sure to test the features before actually paying for it. You can often do tests in local hardware stores.

The bottom line is that when you consider the price vs. the features of most standard printers, Canon Pixma ip100 is the one available in the market of mobile printer that possesses the most bang for the buck. The printing speed is quite impressive for printing both documents and photos. If you print mostly just text and letters in documents for your business, then you will probably want to select a non-color laser printer.

Ordering it online from an office supply dealer might be easy for you. It would be best to find retailers with a warranty policy that ensures the product to be free from damage and in perfect condition. Sometimes they recommend an advance payment for it to be delivered immediately and the benefit is that you can avoid certain additional shipment charges.

An additional advantage of choosing Canon Pixma ip100 is that it has Bluetooth interface where you can print in wireless mode. As an example, think of files found in your camera phone. You will not need the computer or laptop at all. So easy, isn’t it?

The Jakks Pacific EyeClops Mini Projector System. Fully Portable. Play Almost Anthing From DVD’s To Video Games. View Them As A Big Screen Projection

Features & Specifications

The EyeClops MiniProjector from toymaker Jakks Pacific is a minature optical projector that is small enough to take with you wherever you may go. The device can run off the mains via an AC adaptor plug but is also designed to be portable and can run on standard D-cell batteriesif need be. The projector has three composite inputs that allow it to connect to a wide range of devices.

The EyeClops Mini Projector In Practice

The first thing you will notice about the Jakks EyeClops Mini Projector is it’s size. Designed to be easily portable, this thing is small! Portability alone is nice, but is even nicer if you can use the particular media format that is present, say when you’re round at a friends and want to watch one of his DVD’s. The Jakks EyeClops Projector can accomodate a broad range of modern day devices such as DVD players and video game consoles due to it’s audio-video inputs, making it as flexible as it is portable.

With the ability to point the Jakks EyeClops Projector at any flat surface on any angle, the Jakks EyeClops Projector is aimed at kids who want to play their favorite video game on a big screen, or to see their favorite movies from the convenience of their room. When I was a kid I know I’d have found it cool to watch movies on the ceiling! The EyeClops Mini Projector system also features onboard speakers. These are certainly loud enough to be heard if not home-theater quality.

The big weak point of the Jakks EyeClops Projector however is it’s level of brightness. The device performs quite poorly in daylight conditions. All light sources should be fully covered for a good image. When there is too much external light in the room the contrast will be weak and the colors faded and washed out.

When the lights are switched off, the Jakks EyeClops Mini-Projector does a much better job. The EyeClops Mini-Projector is not intended asa replacement for an expensive home theater system costing thousands of dollars, but when you consider the device is designed for kids and sells for less than fifty dollars, to suggest you are not getting great value at this price would be unreasonable.

Some image issues are excusable when you consider that the Jakks EyeClops Projector has a lot that’s cool about it and is selling at an extremely attractive price. You will do just fine if you are not expecting top-of-the-line performance when you make the purchase. Remember it is sold as a child’s toy.

Summary

The EyeClops Projector System is good value and not too expensive for a child’s toy. I recently saw it for sale on Amazon for less than fifty dollars and it is still in the Hot Christmas Toys 2009 list. It’s definitely a great buy, when you consider the coolness and versitility of this toy.

The EyeClops Night Vision Infrared Goggles V2. Authentic Night Vision Technology

There are two reasons why many people consider the EyeClops Night Vision Infrared Goggles V2 an advancement over the original version. The first is price. Consumers will be happy to know that the new goggles are cheaper than the original night vision goggles, but will be curious to know if they are of a similar quality. In terms of the technology used, the new EyeClops Night Vision Goggles uses exactly the same technology. Real Infrared technology gives you the ability to see, even in pitch black conditions and there operational specifications of the two versions is similar as well.

There are two modes offered in both goggle versions. Long-range surveillance mode allows you to view a scenario from up to 50 feet away. This mode does emit red LED light however, making you detectable. Stealth mode however does not emit any incidental light that might blow the cover of a delicate operation.

Both versions of the Jakks EyeClops Night Vision Goggles have similar features and use the same material, so the unaware consumer might be wondering what the difference is.

The difference between the two versions is in the shape and how you use them. The Version 2 “goggles” are not goggles as such, but are shaped more like binoculars that are wearable around your neck (a strap is provided), whereas the Version 1 pair are more the standard goggle shape that attaches to your head and allows you greater freedom of arm movement. The Version 2 stealth “binoculars” are an improvement in several areas however. For one they give a superior field of view when compared to the original. The original only offered a screen in one of the eyes, where as the newer version offers you screens in both “eyes” of the binoculars.

A fault of the original version was the lack of depth perception which made it easy for the wearer to become disorientated and especially given the fact that looking through one eye took quite a bit of getting used to. While the new EyeClops Night Goggles, don’t provide depth perception either, but are more easily taken off when you need to re-orientate you with your surroundings.

While it may be claimed that normal vision can be restored by flipping the original version’s eye-piece, thus achieving the same effect as simply placing the new version aside, proponents of the original EyeClops night vision glasses will also claim that the originality did not “leak” light from the sides of the eye-pieces when you used them, potentially blowing your cover in pitch blackness.

When all is said and done, the EyeClops Night Vision Infrared Goggles V2 work well and deliver on what they say they do. Both versions have their advantages and disadvantages. Some would say the goggles are more in the true spirit of night vision technology and free your hands for other things (albeit you do require a little time to get used to looking through them), the binoculars offer you more freedom and flexibility and can be cast aside much more freely if you decide you wish to return to normal vision.

Web Software Testing: Ensuring Web Software Security and Functionality

The software development life cycle (SDLC) is composed of various stages.Software testing is one of the most essential stages. There are different testing types and they are useful at different stages of the software development cycle. These methods are employed during various stages of the SDLC. The software itself also comes in different varieties, which all require testing before they’re released on the market.

There are many different classes of software and software for web applications is one of them. With the advent of the Internet web software has significantly increased in importance, as the Internet has had a substantial impact on our daily lives. Most security risks come from Internet. Therefore it’s crucial to test the software thoroughly prior to releasing it on the market.

While web software testing is important, there’s always a rush in developing and testing it.There are different methods that the test engineers use to test this software. They are code testing, load testing, compatibility testing, functional testing and regression testing.

The web software is usually released using a pattern of software release known as alpha/beta testing. This is a simulated or actual operational test conducted by potential users or an independent test team at the developers’ site. Because during alpha testing the software is actually still being developed only small modules of the software are tested during this stage. Alpha testing is frequently employed for off-the-shelf software as a method of internal acceptance testing. After being alpha tested software will only be released when all the main functional sections have been both coded and tested.

After the alpha testing is completed the software is permitted to undergo the beta phase of testing. In beta testing the web software I completely built. The software is made available for use to a restricted number of customers intended for software testing previous to the official release. The alpha/beta testing method is not the standard procedure when testing web site design. This means they can build and test one page at a time. After completion they can move onto the next one, with each page independent of each other.

When software testers or development engineers are code testing they are checking for the presence of software bugs. Because the time involved in web development is small it is important that the software is free of bugs. Paired-programming is one of the popular methods used by highly qualified technicians to achieve error free coding .

Paired programming is a software development method in which two programmers work together at one keyboard. The developer typing the code is called the driver while the programmer that checks every line of code as it is produced is called the observer or the navigator. Support for this methodology is provided by some research data produced by Laurie Williams at University of Utah in Salt Lake City. According to this research paired programmers produce code with 15% less bugs while only being 15% slower than individual programmers.

The testing process continues through out the software development cycle so that at the time of final release it is free of bugs. Load testing is performed against heavy loads or inputs such as multiple user log-ins and mail servers to determine the point at which the web-site/application fails or the point when performance degrades. Load testing will provide information regarding the amount of users that could connect simustaneosly to a site, the number of transactions that the system can cope at the same time and its responsiveness under different circumstances or amount of traffic.

Compatibility testing evaluates the application’s compatibility with the computing environment like the operating system, database, browser compatibility, backwards compatibility, computing capacity of the hardware platform and compatibility of the peripherals.

Functional testing confirms its specifications and accurately performs all of the required tasks. This involves doing a series of tests that perform a feature by feature validation of behavior, utilizing a wide range of normal and erroneous input data. The Regression testing the type of testing done to make sure that improvement, defect corrections or any additional changes to the software has not broken down any existing functionality.

When interative methodology is used to develop software regression testing is crucial. Iterative software development is a method in which new functionality is added to existing software. In this case one should make sure that the new addition has not affected any of the existing functionality. Regression testing is done to find out any of such instances. The above mentioned methods are essential tests to complete the web software testing.

Making a Website Template Theme

Filed under: Comp & Tech — damon @ 6:06 pm

So you’ve been appointed an official graphic designer job and have been put in charge of executing some freelance web design for your client’s website. Now you get to sit down and tackle the generally painstaking task of figuring out how exactly to design the website layout in a way that will reflect positively and appropriately on the client’s business or image. Now how do you go about doing that?

From time to time, a website has to be very clear-cut and with minimal graphics; the kinds of sites people access to read, not to admire the aesthetics of (like Fanfiction.net). Other sites ought to be a little more image-dense, like online art portfolios or any site where purchases can be made. And some sites might need to be interactive. Imagine making a web identity for someone who specializes in making country-style furnishings – you could devise the website for this business with cabin décor such as a planked wood background with a fireplace and an antiquated musket on the mantle, maybe with a little animated roaring fire. And each link could be a door that opens into another room of the “house”. Okay, that goes above and beyond basic web design and into 3D animation, but it’d still be fun to trifle with, yeah?

All the rules of layout design jobs apply when generating a website…color, placement, the ‘rule of thirds’, consistency, accuracy, and suitable fonts. If you’re composing the client’s logo too, try to match the font for the site’s content to that of the logo, or something similar. Consider what colors go well together, such as dark grey and orange-yellow, or blue and white. Don’t throw random colors together thinking “the more, the merrier!” – it will look like a Teletubby threw up with all those colors in the same place. Try and stick with three or four colors for the sake of uniformity throughout the site, but also experiment with different combinations on a dummy layout before working on the actual template. In addition, choose a fitting type for the site copy; don’t try to use a size-5 cursive font because no one will be able to read it. Use something simple like Times New Roman or Verdana…something that won’t require a magnifying glass to read.

What’s more, don’t put a different font on each page…this should be universal designer sense, but for some, it isn’t. Research sites similar to what you have to design to get an idea of what kinds of styles to use. Note when I say “research”, I do not mean “blatantly plagiarize”. Don’t copy another site down to the last detail because someone out there in cyberspace will notice the similarities and will think your client is a lazy copycat. Be inspired, but do not steal. Plagiarism is not looked upon too highly in the art world, and it’s the kind of thing that can wreck your repute as an artist.

Types Of Pregnancy Ultrasound

Ultrasound helps doctor to monitor the development of fetus in the womb without any side effects. There are few options available when come to pregnancy ultrasound namely 2D, 3D and 4D ultrasound. 4D ultrasound technology is relatively new if compared to 2D and 3D. The significant difference between 4D ultrasound and other techniques is its capability in providing live studies of the little one. Unlike the other two methods, 4D images are much lively as the motion is captured by the ultrasound machine. It is therefore commonly known as 3D live images. In fact, all these scans use the some machine. 3D shows the surface of the baby whereas 2D presents the baby in layers. However, the quality of images of the scan is merely depending on the equipment’s quality involved used as well as the expertise of the operator.

Cell Phone Camera and Other Mobile Phone Accessories

The most sought after mobile phone accessory today is a camera. Everyone has to have a camera on their cell phone just like having cell phone batteries. People young and old, love taking pictures of their friends and family. The best way to capture those special moments is with your cell phone camera.  Most cell phones now are made with a camera built right in. This mobile phone accessory is at the top of the list for must haves.

Another mobile phone accessory that is hot on the market in sales is the Bluetooth. The audio quality provided in the basic mobile phone device, leaves much to be desired. One solution is a set of cheap speakers that plug into the phone and enhance the audio quality. Any types of earpieces or headsets are great to have. When you’re at work, driving in your car, or exercising, it’s nice to have free hands and these accessories make that possible. Headsets are a little less expensive than the Bluetooth and work about the same. Headsets run around $20 to $30 each. A Bluetooth that clips onto your ear is a bit more convenient and the cost is between $30 and $60 each, for a good one.

From Smoke Clouds To Wireless Communication

It has been a long way and an enormous distance from communicating through smoke clouds or wireless headsets. We could surely say that our means of communications have improved some over the last decades or so. Neither clouds nor blue tooth leave the atmosphere healthy and unharmed though. In one case humanity suffered from air pollution and the other subjects us to radiation of sorts.

My grand-dad used to say, us humans are the most resistant weed that has ever grown on this planet and there won´t be nothing besides ourselves that has the strength to kill us. Ever. I draw my reassurances from his words on a daily basis when slipping on my blue tooth headsets for work in the office. A call center, to be precise. We all wear them here.
