Buying a baby crib is one of the most enjoyable things about expecting a baby. Decorating the baby’s room, picking out their clothes and picking out the right crib are things that all parents enjoy when they are expecting.
Finding the right crib is not always an easy task, however. There are several things to think about and some concerns that need to be addressed before you pick one out. The biggest thing to keep in mind is that the slats of the crib cannot be more than about 2 inches apart. This is not a problem with modern cribs as they are all manufactured correctly, but if you are going to use an heirloom or antique crib you’ll need to measure it to make sure it’s safe for your baby.
