Is vending a scam?

No, vending is not a scam; it is a legitimate home based business. However there are vending scams to be avoided.

What are some vending scams?

The most common is the business opportunity (biz ops) scam that sells a turnkey vending business, these biz ops charge way too much for their services, the machines and the locations. Other scams include placement scams, but these can be easily avoided by only paying for 1 or 2 locations at a time.

Is energy vending a scam?

While it may not be a full-fledged scam, I’m no fan of energy vending. My main concerns about energy vending are: 1) the machines are more expensive than regular bulk machine 2) you only have one place to buy your product 3) it’s a fad 4) the machines can only vend one type of product 5) possible liability issues

How hard is it to start a vending business?

It’s not hard at all to start, but it’s not that easy to be successful or make money. Most people who get started in the vending machine business will end up dropping out before they achieve success. The failure rate is high but this is mostly because people have unrealistic expectations when it comes to vending. A lot of people believe what they’ve read about vending being an easy road to making money, but this is a complete myth.

How much money do vending machines make?

The national average is $7 per vending machine head.

How many machines will I need to make a living?

Do the math, at $7 a head; you’ll see that you’ll need a lot of machines.

What is the best way to get started?

Definitely stay away from the biz ops! Look online or in your local newspaper for a few used vending machines. Get these machines on location, service them for a few months and you’ll have a quick cheap over view of the business.

Is vending a good fit for me?

I don’t know you, so I can’t answer this question for you, but I can tell you that you definitely don’t need to be a brain surgeon. You do need to be independent, organized, self motivated, and be able to see the long-term picture. Everyone thinks they’re cut out to be their own boss, but surprising few people are actually cut out for it.
