Passing on Tradition

In every culture, there are various fields and means of employment or subsistence living that are specific to the society in which they have developed. In some culture, such as the Masai in Africa, a boy must slay a lion to prove that he can be a hunter and, thus, a man. In Jewish tradition, a boy enters a man hood at age thirteen upon the successful completion of his bar mitzvah. In the mid western states of the USA, this right of passage comes when a father teaches his son how to plant corn; a tradition that dates back to before colonial times, to a land in which the Native Americans ran the show. In fact, contrary to modern notions, America’s Native American population once numbers in the tens of millions and boasted large cities and sophisticated societies. Were it not for the arrival of the Europeans, and both the war and disease they brought with them, there’s just no telling how far Native American may have been able to climb here in the United States.

A Third Option – Fabric Vertical Blinds

Most people think that when it comes to vertical blinds, there are only two types of material that you can choose from. The first is wood, which is a fantastic look for your home, but can work out to be fairly expensive, especially when you’ve got more than one window to cover. The second is vinyl, which, while being easier to clean and a lot cheaper, is seen as being at the low end of the spectrum as far as quality is concerned.

What you may not realise is that there is also a third option, which could be seen as being in between the other two, and that is fabric vertical blinds. Fabric, while being cheaper than wood, still needs minimum maintenance to keep it looking good for years to come.

Weight Your Food To Help Shed The Weight

It may sound weird but weighing your food can actually help you to lose weight. The reason is because you will be able to control the amount of food that you eat a lot better. Often times when we eat a meal, we will under estimate the amount of food that we’re eating. This is fine for a couple of meals but if you are over eating every day this will only lead to more weight gain. What you can do is use a digital kitchen scale to weigh your food. This can be a great way to be able to enjoy your meals without wondering if you have eaten too much or not. By sticking to the right amount of food each day, you will be able to reach your weight and fitness goals. It would just be a matter of time.
